As a child, a journal was constantly at my side and I was always ready to create stories from my wild imagination. I’d throw a CD into my portable player and stare out the car window lost in thought as I dreamed up new worlds, ideas, and stories.
However, I didn’t initially pursue film and photography in college. I studied psychology for a good two years before realizing my passion was with the camera — a passion I’d had since childhood. I remember being so scared to tell my parents that I didn’t want to study psychology anymore and that I wanted to switch to a major that, at the time, had a high risk of unemployment after graduation. When I finally worked up the courage to tell them, my parents said, “You’ve always loved being behind the camera. We didn’t see your heart in psychology as much as we do with this.” They fully backed my decision and encouraged me to switch majors. The jobs would come if I worked hard enough. It wasn’t an easy start, but eventually, things worked out. I’m grateful I am able to do something I love every day. |
I believe everyone has a story worth telling. Capturing those stories with my lens brings me joy, whether it’s through video or photography. It’s why I stay up until 2 AM editing videos and photos. It’s what inspires me to get up and go each day. It’s what I love to do.
Sunflower Film Project was born out of a passion to share stories and the beauty of life with others. To capture moments, both big and small. To share in moments of triumph, perseverance, love, and hope. To share the beauty that others create through music, art, and their voice. My hope is that my work not only captures the essence of who people are but also brings hope and inspiration to the viewer. |
I’m a daydreamer and a glasses-half-full kind of girl. When I'm not behind the camera, I can usually be found spending time with my family and friends, exploring the outdoors, traveling to new places, delighting in thrift store treasures and quoting movies on a regular basis.
God has placed some incredible people in my path, and I hope these videos inspire you or bring a little joy into your day. The people I've met through this project have inspired me and opened my eyes to some truly amazing things.
